Since 1960, the Northern California Branch of AALAS has been dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals and to the quality research that leads to scientific gains that benefit mankind and animals. NCB-AALAS membership provides high quality, affordable educational opportunities, technical training, and resources for career development and professional certification to laboratory animal professionals.
What do I receive for my NCB-AALAS membership?
In addition to being a member of one of the most active branches of AALAS (over 500 members strong!), you will be able to develop your professional network, keep in touch with colleagues, and will have access to timely notifications about job opportunities in Northern California. Other advantages include getting discounted access to AALAS Learning Library, accruing continuing education credits, member discounts to branch events, and you will be eligible to be nominated for distinguished awards, many of which include a cash prize. Members are also able to develop leadership qualities by becoming a board member and helping to shape the future of the branch.
When I try to sign in, I get a message that says my e-mail is already in use. What does that mean?
At some point, you started to sign up for a membership using that e-mail address or you signed up for an event using that e-mail address. Our database tracks by e-mail addresses. If you are experiencing problems with the website, e-mail email@example.com. We will get it corrected for you. Please do not sign up with another e-mail address. That will create problems later. Again, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for resolution of the problem.
How do I change my e-mail address or other membership information?
After signing into your account, go to the top right corner of the page and click the My Profile link. Update your profile information as needed and click Save when done.
Does my NCB-AALAS membership include membership in national AALAS?
Is the Northern California branch connected to national AALAS?
NCB-AALAS is an independent, non-profit branch of AALAS. The various AALAS branches are allowed to use the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science name in the branch name and logo, but branches are not legal entities of AALAS. AALAS provides trainings and resources for the leadership of various branches but has no legal responsibility and accepts no liability for actions of the branches.
Where do I renew my membership?
You can renew your membership through your profile after signing into your account.
How do I sign up for the AALAS learning library?
You can sign up through our membership bundles that includes the AALAS Learning library. Click here to sign up.
How do I contact an NCB-AALAS administrator/board member?
If I begin my membership in May of the current year, will my membership run through May of the following year?
Does NCB-AALAS offer test prep classes for the AALAS ALAT, LAT, LATG or CMAR certifications?
Yes. Check our website for upcoming test preparation classes. If we don't have any classes scheduled, send an email to email@example.com and we can let you know when our next course is planned to take place, or suggest online course options.
My company/institution has an institutional NCB-AALAS membership. Does that mean I'm a member?
Maybe...check with your institutional coordinator to confirm that your name/email address has been added to your institution's membership. If you don't know who that is, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will get back to you with that information.
